I was born and raised in Western Washington, running barefoot through our overgrown forests, streams, stinging nettle, eating huckleberries, blackberries and salmonberries and scraping slug slime off my feet at the end of the day. I love the rain after months of it, the ocean air, the dark, moody days, the waterfalls, the green, the Thanksgiving Day Storms, the humidity, living at sea level, and I even love the moss. For decades, I have photographed from the San Juan Islands, to Canada, to Portland and into the foothills of the Cascades, the Puget Sound, estuaries where the Olympics float above the mists and so many areas in between. I am not fully myself outside of this wonderland. I hope these photos convey my love.
