I was born and raised in Western Washington, running barefoot through our overgrown forests, streams, stinging nettle, eating huckleberries, blackberries and salmonberries and scraping slug slime off my feet at the end of the day. For decades, I have photographed from the San Juan Islands, to Canada, to Portland and into the foothills of the Cascades, the Puget Sound, estuaries where the Olympics float above the mists and so many areas in between. Going to the Point of Arches & Shi Shi Beach in the farther Northwest corner of Washington and being able to photograph the astounding majesty of this beach in evening and morning golden hours, with fog and mist and high and low tides. Every change enchanted me. I hope these photos give you small taste of this Pacific Northwest Wonderland.
