Oh, how I love the magic of a full moon. This last one was so beautiful. I love the energetic peace I feel when I just sit and allow my soul to connect with it. A few years ago, I captured a full moon like this one that burned magically through the bare winter tree limbs just before they began budding for spring. Jupiter was also captured in that photo, it is one of my favorite moon photos. You can see it below. As a young girl, I would sit at my window seat and watch as the moon traveled across the night sky. Often the moonlight would grace my pillow and linger for hours before it fell behind tall evergreen trees on its way to the horizon. I feel peaceful, beautiful, powerful and clear as to who I am and where I am going when I connect with the moon’s magical power.
It was similar to how I felt that afternoon in the cedar. The white faeries surrounded me and Grandma Mae, swirling around. One faerie pulled a soft cloth from somewhere within her dress and wiped my tears. Another faerie used her delicate fingers to settle my hair back into its place. Yet another faerie put both her hands over my heart and blew away the excess pain, helping more of my sorrow lift. Four or five faeries picked twigs and cedar branches from off my dress from where I had sat on the ground while another two faeries gathered the twigs and cedar branches and removed them away from us all but I couldn’t see where they flew to. Various other faeries attended to wounds I didn’t realize I had and other things I didn’t understand but it all felt peaceful and revitalizing, all in a synchronized dance that just the synergy of it all seemed to whisk pain away.
Somewhere in the room, faeries were playing music that felt soothing. It sounded like they had windchimes that were blowing in the wind and changing pitch with the melody and harmonies in the music. It was soft and smooth like a woodland stream hurrying along in the spring. Flutes carried the melody with some of the windchimes from each corner of the room, swirling together with the faeries angelic voices. It felt cool and gentle and I wanted to sing with them but I didn’t yet know the song.
I smelled a subtle smell, not unlike chocolate and roses. It was rich and soft, smooth and calming. I loved it. I realized that one of the faeries was rubbing my hand with an oil or something. When she was done, I lifted my hand and knew that the smell was coming from the oil. It was more coconutty with cocoa butter and roses and mock orange. The faerie giggled when she saw the smile on my face as I kept my hand close to my nose. She then began rubbing the oil into my other hand. Beyond smelling nice, it made my hands feel smooth and yet again, lifted my drooping soul.
A faerie with unusually pink skin and big smile flew up to me with a more burdened flight pattern, as if she were carrying something heavy. Her arms were behind her and when she turned to the side, I realized that the three faeries around her were helping her hold a pot that was huge for even four faeries to be flying with. A fifth faerie flitted around the pot from behind with a little faerie ladle. I was very curious what was happening when, then another faerie opened the pot. A luxurious smell wafted from inside and I knew I wanted a taste. The final faerie with the ladle dipped the ladle in the pot and brought up a clear broth with what looked like small pieces of carrots and something green. When I sipped the broth, I felt instantly warm all over and more relaxed than I had felt in many months. They fed me until I was full and then flew away as gracefully as they could with the cumbersome pot.
Grandma Mae stood close for the whole process. “Darling, it is time for me to go. Please return. There is more work to do. Your family needs you. And we are always here.” At that moment, I gestured to her like I wanted to hug her and the faeries moved away for Grandma Mae to come forward and hug me. Then, the faeries completely surrounded me in their white, fluttering peace and we lifted into the air. The next thing I knew I was exiting the cedar tree where I had entered what seemed like hours ago. The door closed and I stood alone below the cedar tree. I was no longer numb or fighting to keep my mind from splitting. It was still snowing and bitter cold and I still had awful things to face but I knew I would no longer do it without my faerie angels. Somehow, my children and I would get through.
I walked back to my car and drove the rest of the way home.
