Welcome!

As the world darkens into seemingly endless chaos and discord, now, more than ever, we need faeries. We need their wisdom and light, their healing and their peace. We need connection to the earth and the beauty that is all around us. We need their childlike wonder and laughter. We need the beauty that they create and appreciate. We need their sense of humor and ability to find fun wherever they go. We need to remember how it feels to giggle at the flutter of a butterfly’s wings, to dance because something inside simple must or it will burst, how it feels to sing with the robins, and swim with the mermaids, and explore the woods with the nymphs. We need to remember the wonder of a lightning and thunder storm, the mesmerizing awe of a bonfire, the catch of your breath as you watch shooting stars, the miracle of the aurora borealis, the art of the first frost, the magic of crystal snowflakes as they swirl around you, the rhythmic beat of the ocean as it washes away your distress, the revitalizing energy of the wind before a storm and the ebb and flow of the seasons that renew us year after year.

This blog is my story of finding my path back to the light and healing, joy and goodness that I knew innocently and naturally as a child. My life has been a struggle between darkness and light, pain and healing, sorrow and joy. Very often, in my darkest moments, my faerie angels would appear and like a beacon of light, invite me to choose to keep going, to keep fighting, to hope. Sometimes I listened and sometimes I did not. In fact, some of my story is of a girl who wanted to do it all herself, who didn’t need any help, who thought that ‘doing more’ meant being good, who thought that emotions and ‘girl things’ were stupid and weak, who thought that feeling was a waste of time and for babies. I am sad to admit this, for I missed some beautiful parts of life by sleeping too little, doing too much, involving myself in activities and places and people that didn’t give life, but sucked it out of me. I know of darkness and I also know of light. I have felt pain so deep and for so long, that I thought it would take my life and now I feel peace so enduring that I know, once again, how to live. Some of my greatest lessons were handed to me in the form of trials, difficulties and darkness because I was forced to slow down, reconnect with what is real, accept the help of loved ones and my faerie angels, release fear and learn again to feel. It was at those very moments of despair that my faerie angels could teach me and lead me back to who I really was, a being of light and of peace and of power.

This is me as a little girl who spent lots of time chasing faeries.

This is me as a high school senior who was trying to reconnect to my emotions.

This was me as a young mom who loved watching my children chase faeries.

This was a couple years ago when I began accepting my faerie angels once again.

But this story isn’t only mine, it is my faerie angels’ story as well. We will venture in and out of the world of faerie. This blog will flow from my life as it is now, to my life when I was a child, connected and open to my faeries, to the world of the faeries where we get a peak of life connected to the earth and its cycles, its difficulties and its greatest blessings, to some difficult times when I tried to ‘do it all myself’ and suffered disconnect and pain, to my trips to Michigan where my mother was born and raised and where I first met my faerie angels, to my journey of healing and learning, lead by my faeries, that finally brought me to some of the dearest moments of my life, reconnected with loving family and friends who never left me, to my faerietale from my fantasy novel, Beyond Trivar, that introduces you to one of my dearest faerie angels of all, and finally catching you up real-time to the miracles happening in my life and the new and wonderful adventures awaiting all of us as we move forward into fully living, connected to nature and it’s wonders, connected to our emotions, and connected to the people and faeries around us that love us.

As you can probably see, this journey is riddled with faeries. They are sometimes nurturing and patient and they are sometimes, because of our stubbornness and disconnect, cranky and mischievous, allowing our own folly and difficulties to overcome us in hopes that we can see clearly and eventually be humble enough to learn the lessons they desire to teach us. Most faeries only ever want us to come to ourselves, accept the light within us and reconnect to all the goodness all around us, though there are some of their kind who have become discouraged because of our chaos and discord and these faeries have lost hope for our race to ever reconnect again. Those faeries can be malicious and evil. However, it is way more difficult for faeriekind to fall into darkness, and most of the time, we will see how faerie angels really have no other purpose but to keep our world filled with beauty and hope and try to help us find our own individual path to that end.

This is my journey with my faerie angels, I invite you to join us. And maybe, just maybe, there is something you could learn from these beautiful creatures, too. Let’s begin.

Christy

Welcome to Solas Beatha (BYAH-ha), Scots Gaelic for Light of Life, a sanctuary created by me, a Hippee by day and a faerie by night 😉

For over twenty years, I’ve created under the name L.M. Christenson; author, artist, and maker of Colorado Hippee spa offerings. That name still lives in my books and stories.

But now, I return as simply Christy.

Solas Beatha now holds all I’ve created, and all I will create, under one roof. It’s a place where storytelling, healing, and seasonal soul connection come together. I’m steering this ship with joy, continuing to write, paint, and offer the soul-nourishing goods you’ve come to love.

Here’s what’s blooming in the sanctuary right now:

• 📸 Nature photography 2026 calendars & photo gifts

• 📚 Beyond Trivar, with book two underway, I’m sooo excited to share more soon!

If you’ve arrived here as an old friend or through curiosity, welcome.

Whether you’re drawn to story, myth, or stillness, I hope Solas Beatha helps you slow down, breathe deeply, and return to what matters most.

.

All my love,

Christy 🧚🏻‍♂️🦋🧚🏻‍♂️
